She’s an intelligent, skilled professional working from home today, or at least attempting to. Next to her is a one-year old child in a high-chair, red runny nose, eating cereal but mostly throwing it on the floor. It’s really hard for the mom to get anything done today. The woman picks up her cell phone, opens an app and walks to the refrigerator to refill the child’s milk cup. As she looks down at her phone, she smiles! The shares of a stock she bought recently have gone up, and better yet her overall portfolio value has trended upward for the last quarter. The app’s dashboard graph displays how many months she is away from hitting a milestone she and her husband set at New Year’s. Great! An alert indicates the Fed is raising rates and bond prices are predicted to fall. Some of the funds she’s in with significant bond exposure are highlighted on the display. She presses “save” to make sure to review this closely later. Over in the highchair she hears a whine, so she opens the fridge and gets back to her two jobs. Now that’s just one of millions of similar scenarios; it’s hard not to see how WealthTech companies have a wonderful challenge in front of them. If approached correctly, this group of busy and savvy women can be further empowered to soar financially – not just through career advancement, but through their use of convenient tools like WealthTech platforms. There are opportunities WealthTech companies have right now to get through to these millennial moms (and even late GenX moms) as traditional wealth management  misses the boat.
