Intuitive Intelligence (II) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) By Dr Manj Subiah (@drmanjsubiah) What is Intuitive Intelligence (II) and why does it matter? Intuitive Intelligence (II) can be understood as an intangible, inherent dynamic asset which is used in the VUCA context. Located within the leader who can access multiple inputs of head, heart, gut, and eco / universal intelligence referred to, by Einstein. It is the stimulus behind our ‘aha’ moments, insights, ultimately helping us make strategic decisions in a VUCA context. The value of Intuitive Intelligence is that it develops and manifests in the performance and ability of the individual; enabling the perception of immediate meaning and sense making not easily achieved by other means. An evolving intelligence with intrapersonal, interpersonal and situational level of awareness is integral to the dynamic nature of Intuitive Intelligence. What is Artificial Intelligence (AI) and why does it matter? AI is the development of computer systems whereby machines are equipped with algorithms which ultimately enable machine learning. Machines perform tasks normally performed by human intelligence, such as pattern recognition, via visual or speech, decision-making, language translation, even simple emotion simulation. While smart machines add value to our lives, boundaries do start to blur when it comes to profiling of people and the marking and targeting of buyers (humans) begins. This is where the role of Intuitive Intelligence becomes infused with the design and development of AI in terms of the setting of clear rules, privacy, trust and integrity being inherent to the AI process from inception to completion. Evolutionary imperative. The common link to both AI and II is that neither humans nor machines can evolve into more advanced versions without continually learning. The imperative we as humans have, is to learn what it is to be truly human…to delve more deeply into our humane-ness. Ultimately, given the development of AI and a pervasive knowledge economy, the imperative is really to use one’s intuitive intelligence and evolve or simply become irrelevant. As nature would put it: to ‘evolve to survive’. If you liked what you just read, why not sign up to our weekly newsletter? Get all the content straight to your inbox here.
