Five Europe-based startups will travel to Hong Kong in February after successfully being shortlisted at JUMPSTARTER 2020 semi pitch event in London.
Date: 19 September 2019 Author: FINTECH Circle Five Europe-based startups will travel to Hong Kong in February after successfully being shortlisted at Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund/HSBC JUMPSTARTER 2020 semi pitch event at Level39 in London on 17 September 2019. JUMPSTARTER 2020 is a global pitch competition held in eight cities across the globe. Its goal is to connect international entrepreneurial talent with Hong Kong to bolster its reputation as a startup hub. The London round attracted almost 250 entries from Europe. It was designed to find the best startups from the retail, fintech, smart-city and advanced technology sectors who have a desire to make Hong Kong part of their future plans. The five businesses shortlisted for February’s Grand Finale in Hong Kong will compete for an investment of up to $5 Million. In addition to the investment, the winning startup will also gain access to the Alibaba ecosystem to capitalise on its valuable insights, experience and resources. Finalists of London round are:
  • Vividq, a deep tech software company focusing on bringing holography and real-time 3D display to everyone
  • BritishPearl, a company that provides individuals and institutions with an opportunity to invest in property through a unified validated platform
  • ORBInnovations has developed a smart mouth guard designed to aid in concussion research whilst also making sports performance tracking easy
  • UnmannedLife – Autonomy-as-Service. Company’s vision is to autonomies robots no matter which network they run on to create one unified control of various processes
  • Stasher, an innovative luggage storage solution that works with hotels and restaurants
