Will we see time where insurance becomes truly frictionless – without any of the intrusive aspects we see today- so people like you and me don’t really have to worry about it whether you’ve bought it nor have the same hassle of claiming on it. Or eventually will other things over take us in our world that insurance will be so disrupted it actually becomes pointless, certainly from how the end consumer sees things? Let’s take an imaginative but closer than you think look at how far InsurTECH could evolve the insurance landscape. To get you going, let’s look at two simple examples. Imagine that your new £1,500 racing bike was insured the moment you bought it and took to the roads so when you have an accident that very same day and is damaged beyond repair a new one arrived very the next day with a simple thank you note reminding you that you’re being paid £200 per day until you return to run your own electrical business. What if you never had to worry about travel insurance? Imagine that when you walked onto an airplane to fly anywhere you automatically became covered. From simple technology, it would know when and where you were going to tell your home insurance, bank, alarm company and friends you’re away and in fact only actually charge you for how long you’re actually way. What will tomorrow really look like and how will this truly transform the world of insurance and most importantly protect the things we care about.
